Creating a Strong Argument With Your Second Step in Writing anAgumentative Essay
Creating a Strong Argument With Your Second Step in Writing anAgumentative EssayThe second step in writing an argumentative essay is to make sure that your statement or argument is both interesting and truthful. It is this second part that gets many students into trouble. For one thing, it's easy to be lazy and just write a tired story about a tragic incident. That is one of the easiest things to do, but in order to get a good grade on your essay, you must create a piece of writing that will leave the reader thinking about your essay for at least thirty minutes after you are done reading it. On the other hand, there are a number of ways to begin the second step of writing an argumentative essay. Let's take a look at some ways to make sure that your argument is compelling enough to make your reader want to read through your piece again.Knowledge: No matter what subject you may be addressing, always remember that your idea is only as good as the information that you are presenting. If y ou can demonstrate that you have acquired substantial knowledge about a certain topic, then it's already half way to persuading the reader. Just like with all academic subjects, it is important to make sure that you do not plagiarize information. If you want to come up with a successful argumentative essay, you must remember that the key to turning your ideas into a persuasive argument is to keep it original. Just like a musician needs to keep his ideas fresh and new, you need to do the same.Even if you have already written several pages about something, it may be helpful to take a moment to seep knowledge from other authors about the subject. While this may seem like a waste of time, it can actually be a very powerful strategy. You may find yourself laughing about how completely ignorant you were about a subject, and it is only by having other people comment on the subject that you will gain new insight. Being able to use other people'swords and references can also help you avoid b eing sued by a school board for plagiarism. As a result, if you are concerned about coming up with a great essay, think about how you can use other people's research to expand your own.Experience: When it comes to an essay, no one really has a unique experience on hand to relate to. When writing an argumentative essay, you should always strive to relate a personal experience to your topic in some way. When referencing experiences, make sure that you understand that a student's opinion isn't the same as a professional writer's opinion.Because there is no way to really know how many different opinions there are on an issue, it is very helpful to have another opinion out there for the readers to choose from. A student's opinion may be that a particular policy is correct, but a writer's opinion may be that a policy is wrong. The point is to convince the reader that they should choose your own opinion instead of the other person's. This can only be accomplished by utilizing an opinion th at was expressed as 'I' rather than 'we'.In addition to choosing an opinion that is unique to yourself, it is also helpful to choose an opinion that relates to the subject of your paper. Your reader will find it much easier to decide that yours is right if they can see how similar it is to the viewpoint of a third party. Make sure that your opinion actually represents your perspective. In fact, this may even work better than seeping knowledge from another author because you can be the author of your own opinion and know that it represents you. Of course, it is also possible that the opinions you have read are actually your opinion, but you want to make sure that your statements are not complete make believe.
